    Lois Goodman Comer

    October 22, 1936 - March 19, 2022

Lois Goodman Comer, 85, of Chester, Virginia, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, March 19, 2022. She was the daughter of Leah Vivian Goodman and David Boyce Goodman of Petersburg. She married Roger and made her home in Chester, VA, working until retirement at Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company. She is survived by two children, Wanda Ward and David Comer (Heidi); two grandsons, Curt Laprade (Kelley) and Chris Ward (Jackie); two great-grandchildren, Cole Laprade and Saylor Ward; sister-in-law, Georgia Wallace; one nephew, Jay Culpepper (Lori); and cousins, Alta Allgood, Cheryl Earp, Everette and Jeanny Shaw. Lois and Roger spent free time traveling all over the East Coast, camping with their children, and after retirement, traveling up and down the Intercoastal Waterway to and from the Bahamas on their boat, "The Remoc." She and Roger then moved to their home at Buggs Island Lake, which was definitely her "Happy Place!" Lois was most content when family and friends were around, and she loved holidays, bingo, going to the casino, and dancing with her husband. Visitation and funeral services will be held on Friday, March 25 at J.T. Morriss & Son - Petersburg Chapel, 103 S. Adams Street. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM, with the service following at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends after burial at the home of Chris Ward and Jackie Miller, 2412 Mount Blanco Road, Chester, VA 23836. Flowers are welcome or memorial contributions may be made to Bensley-Bermuda Rescue Squad at 2500 Rio Vista St, Chester, VA 23831. The family is being served by J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home of Hopewell, VA. Condolences may be registered online at www.jtmorriss.com.
