Layne Mccartney Coyne

Layne McCartney Coyne, 56 of Hopewell Virginia passed away on November 23, 2013 in Richmond, Virginia. Layne was predeceased by her mother, Martha McCartney; maternal grandparents, Leldon and Lorene Singleton; paternal grandparents, John Ellis Sr. and Cleon McCartney; and uncle, Dudley Singleton. She is survived by her husband, Tim Coyne of Hopewell, Virginia; father, John Ellis McCartney Jr. (Ruby); sister, Rebecca Montgomery and her children Ace and Griffin; brothers, William and Andrew McCartney; uncle, Whitt Singleton (Sylvia); five cousins; and 21 nieces and nephews. Layne was a “mountain kid” attending Monte Sano Elementary and was a graduate of Huntsville High School and Auburn University. She received her Masters Degree in Family Consumer Science at Alabama A&M University. Layne was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hopewell, Virginia and a longtime member of University Baptist Church of Huntsville, Alabama. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday December 2, 2013 at University Baptist Church in Huntsville, Alabama. She will be laid to rest in Maple Hill Cemetery in a private service.
