Kathleen Elizabeth Sherer Moss “Kitty”, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, February 28, 2019. She was 87 years old. Kathleen had been a long time resident of Hopewell, VA. The last 12 years of her life she lived in North Myrtle Beach, SC to be near her daughter and family. She was a member of First Baptist Church of North Myrtle Beach, SC.
Kathleen loved her family with all her heart. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece and friend. Throughout her life she was a sunday school teacher, a scout leader, co-owned a par 3 golf course, a catering business, and was a dedicated employee of Honeywell, formerly Allied Chemical.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry Moss, Jr. “Bill”, a daughter, Nellie Virginia Moss, parents, Blanch Browder Sherer Tutton and Clarence William Sherer, a sister, Annette Jarrett, a brother, Fred Pierce “Bucky”, and special niece, Vickie Harris.
Kathleen is survived by her son, Michael, and granddaughters, Charlotte and Kathryn. Her daughter, Robbin, son-in-law Larry, and granddaughters, Caroline and Lauren, her husband, Blake, and their newborn, Clementine, (Kathleen’s great-granddaughter). Her daughter, Kim, son-in-law Paul, and step-grandchildren, Paige and Jordan.
Kathleen is also survived by her sister, Ruth Sherer Fry with husband, John, and daughter, Sandra Kazebeer, her husband, Jack, and family, and son-in-law, Danny, and family. Kathleen is also survived by her Aunt, Francis Browder Treaster “Aunt Liddy”, her sisters-in-law, Nancy Moss Yeattes and Lottie Hall Pierce and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home Chapel with great-nephew, Pastor J. D. Kazebeer, officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment will follow in Appomattox Cemetery. A “celebration of life” luncheon will follow for all friends and family at the Cobblestone Clubhouse, Hopewell, VA. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at First Baptist Church, North Myrtle Beach, SC.
