Hazel Benn Miller

July 10, 1933 - January 25, 2022

Hazel Benn Miller, 88, of Chester, Virginia, departed this life peacefully at home on Tuesday, January 25, 2022. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Ronald Lee Miller; her parents, James and Rosemond Benn; and her brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Esther Benn. She is survived by her two daughters, Sherri Snelson (Donnie), and Debi Sheffield; two grandchildren, Leslie Elston, and Jake Snelson (Monica); great-grandchildren, Callie, Levi, Kahlo, Jackson, and Ellie; as well as numerous extended family and friends. Hazel was employed at Mobile Chemical Company in Ashland for many years, before choosing to be a homemaker and caregiver to her grandchildren and elderly parents. She was a faithful member of Chester United Methodist Church in Chester, Va. She enjoyed family gatherings, water aerobics at the Chester YMCA, sewing, gardening, the beach, and traveling. There will be no funeral or memorial services at this time. Special thanks to Janet Patterson, Hazel's caregiver and friend; to all family and friends who helped, visited, and called during her last days; Pastor Nathan Decker of CUMC; and to Amedysis Hospice.
