Derek Anthony Williams, Sr., 62, of Hopewell, VA, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022. Born in Indianapolis, IN, he was the son of the late Howard and Mary Reeves Williams. Derek was a United States Marines veteran and had retired from the Department of Corrections after 20 years of dedicated service. He is survived by his three children, Derek Williams, Jr. (Denise), Patrice Williams (Derrick), and Terence Williams; his granddaughter, De'Asiah Taylor; two sisters, Toria Lacey and Shelly Jones (Rick); his fiancée, Carmen Hunter; and two bonus daughters, Heidi Mason (Lamarro) and Joanna McBride (Daniel) and their families. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at the J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home - Hopewell Chapel. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at the funeral home.
