Curtis Meade Thomas Sr.

Curtis Meade Thomas, Sr., 86, of Hopewell, VA passed away on June 6, 2015. Born in Heathsville, VA he was the son of the late Andrew J. and Sarah E. Clarke Thomas; and was also preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon E. Davis. Mr. Thomas was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Colonial Heights, VA. He is survived by his son, Curtis M. Thomas, Jr.; five grandchildren, Robert Arnold and spouse, Roscobelen, Chris Arnold, Jeremy Thomas and spouse Sierra, Joshua Thomas and spouse Amanda, and Sarah Thomas Perutelli and spouse Anthony ; one brother, Paul B. Thomas; a niece, Denise Courtney and spouse, Kenneth; and numerous great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 8, 2015 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at the funeral home with the Rev. Ray Haskett, officiating. Interment will follow in Merchant’s Hope Memorial Gardens, Prince George, VA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
