Charles Warren Crowder

May 27, 1943 - February 14, 2022

Charles W. Crowder, 78, of Chesterfield, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on February 14, 2022. Charles was born May 27, 1943, in Dinwiddie County, Virginia. He was the biological son of the late Calvin Crowder and Olive Slayden. He was adopted by the late Uriah B. and Mary E. Bell. Charles was preceded in death by his first wife, Carol Blankenship Crowder; and his second wife, Wanda Crowder. Charles Crowder will be greatly missed and is survived by his daughter, Amy M. Crowder; his stepdaughter, Deanna Lea Kepler; and his step-grandson, Shawn Evers Kepler. Charles was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a very sweet, kind, and soft-spoken man. Charles was retired from ALU and from Reynolds American Ink. During the 70's and early 80's, he was a member of the Matoaca Volunteer Fire Department. During his retirement years, he worked as a door-greeter at Walmart. Charles spent the last two years in the loving care of the staff at the Amelia Nursing Home in Amelia, Virginia. He is now in the care of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, Chester Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. in East Matoaca Cemetery, Petersburg, VA on February 25, 2022. Pastor Chris Price will officiate. Memorial contributions can be made to the Parkinson's Foundation or the American Diabetes Association.
