Carolyn Anne Vargo

Carolyn Anne “Cheely” Vargo, 74, of Greenville, SC died August 19, 2021. She was born in Hopewell, VA on October 5, 1946. She was the daughter of the late Odis Gee and Ida Belle Jolly Cheely. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Thomas Allen Vargo; son, Christopher Vargo and his wife, Jo Ann, of Greenville, SC; son, Allen Vargo and his wife Lynette, of Seneca, SC; grandchildren – Elizabeth of Greenville, SC, Daniel of Greenville, SC and Grace Ann of Seneca, SC; a brother, James Cheely and his wife Bonnie of Glasgow, KY; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by not only her parents by also a brother, Thomas Cheely, of Alabama, and a sister-in-law, Kathy Cheely, of South Carolina. She served as a pianist, organist and choir director for churches in Virginia. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, needlepoint and working puzzles. She will be buried at Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens, North Prince George, VA.
