Carolyn Hanchey Rawlings

Carolyn Hanchey Rawlings, 82, of Hopewell, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2022. She was the daughter of the late Earl Ephraim Hanchey and Fannie Ruby King Hanchey. She is survived by her beloved husband, Ernest L. Rawlings, Jr.; son, Stacey L. Rawlings and his wife, Lois; grandson, Michael E. Rawlings and his wife, Shelby, and James D. Rawlings; and granddaughter, Sydney E. Rawlings; one brother-in-law, and several nieces and nephews. Carolyn was employed with Defense Supply Center Richmond as a Supply Specialist, retiring after many years. She was a faithful member at City Point Restoration Church and enjoyed playing the organ there. She loved her family and will be dearly missed. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 29, 2022, at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday April 30, 2022, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
