Alice Joyce Handschuh, 90, of Sutherland, VA, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2024. Joyce was born on October 7, 1933 in Prince George, VA to mother, Mary Catherine Belcher and father, Andrew Clinton Sculthorpe. She was one of 9 children. She was married for 42 years to Zacharias (Zach) Handschuh.
Joyce retired as an office manager for Goodyear Tire & Rubber after 32 years of service.
Joyce was a devoted wife, wonderful mother, loyal friend, hard worker, great cook, and all-around good person.
Joyce is survived by her daughter, Angela Handschuh; her sister, Mary Frances Smith; her brother, William Sculthorpe; her sister-in-law, Hilda Carpenter; many nieces and nephews; and her cat, Trouble.
A graveside service will be held at Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Road, Petersburg, VA on Friday, June 14, 2024 at 2:00 PM.
May she rest in peace.
